Have you ever regretted winging a sales meeting?    A lack of proper planning can often result in a lackluster meeting and a missed opportunity.  While our ego may tell us we are ready for any situation, it is always best to prepare for a challenging discussion and then be pleasantly surprised if the opportunity advances more easily.   We must be diligent in our planning and preparation.  

As sales professionals, we need to develop  a territory plan to focus our time on the right accounts and activities for the month, quarter and year.  Due to the dynamic nature of our work, however, our highest priorities often shift on a daily basis.  A best practice tip of mine is to reserve time at the end of the business day to create a To Do list for the next day.   

A simple To Do List helps us to capture and prioritize all  activities that will require our attention the next day.   Even though all my activities are entered in CRM, I still like to create the To Do List of the must do items.  This way I am certain I will not overlook anything critical and I can hit the ground running in the morning.
