Colossians 4:6

"Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Christian Based Selling

When the intent of our heart is in the right place (to help people solve their business problems if you can), our speech will flow with grace, passion and insightful commentary.  The words do not have to be eloquent but must resonate with truth.  When we are working to force our agenda onto a prospective client our words will fail to resonate because we are ignoring their true needs.

When we take the time to truly qualify and understand our prospect's challenges, then we can share how our solution can solve their problem(s).  Our words will be seasoned with salt because we will be sharing insights from our experience in solving these problems for other clients.  If we do not have direct experience with the specific issue, we can share how our solution has solved similar problems.  Because we are being honest and real about the problems we have and have not solved, our words will resonate with truth.  You will build trust and credibility with your prospect which will increase your odds of winning the business.

Can you think of a time you tried to force your solution on a prospect?  How did it work out in short term?  Long term?

Do you think being honest about what your solution can't do is a good idea?
