1 Timothy 6:10

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil."

Christian Based Selling

As Christian sales professionals we are responsible for driving revenue for our company and are paid well for our success.  We are always talking money.  How much is the deal?  How much of our quota is in/outstanding?  How much is or commission?

When our intentions are focused on helping organizations solve their business problems then we are serving people, not money.  Ironically we will have greater success because our prospects will be able to discern that we are working to determine fit rather than just pushing our solution to make a commission.  We will develop a trusted rapport with our prospects and, by way of diligence in qualifying, spend our time on the right opportunities.

It is easy to be devoted to God when things are not going our way.   In our success we need to guard against feeling less dependent on the Lord.  If our identity begins to be defined by our material desires, such as our address or car, then we have lost our way.  It is critical to our salvation that we are grateful to God for our blessings and that we remain humble in our heart.

How do you define yourself?
