Our prayers for success must not be rooted in worldly materialism.  When we are exalted it will be a blessing for our humble love of God and the good intentions of our grateful heart.   

We must submit ourselves to the will of God.  We must strive to wear the cloak and shield of Jesus in this world.  If we'd rather desire wrap ourselves in a BMW and the finest clothes to project an identity of this world, then we are in conflict with the Lord.  It is okay to achieve material success but not if it replaces God in your heart.  

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and money.

What drives your will to succeed?  Do you want financial success for the right reasons?  What are those?  Has the desire for money encroached on your faith?
